PhD Opportunity: Designing the Future of Food Structure

Project: Bubble encapsulation into droplets (“Bubblets”)

We are seeking a motivated PhD candidate to explore a new class of soft matter: Bubblets.
This project merges experimental fluid mechanics with numerical simulations to create novel food textures and complex fluids.

Supervisors: Dr. Marco Ramaioli & Prof. Pier Luca Maffettone
Focus: Interfacial transport, rheology, and millifluidics.
Profile: Master’s in Physics, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
Deadline: April 17th, 2026
