Danilo Russo is Assistant Professor at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy, at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Materials, and Industrial Production.
He teaches the courses of “Safety of Liquid and Solid Materials”, “Emerging contaminants and advanced oxidation processes”, and “Heterogeneous photocatalysis”.
Danilo Russo received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II in 2012 and 2014, respectively.
In January 2018 he received his PhD in Industrial Products and Processes (European Label) from the same Institution. Since then, he is an official exam committee member for students examination and teaching tutor.
He has been a Visiting Student and a PhD Visiting Student in 2014 and 2017 at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Loughborough (supervisor: Prof. G. Li Puma) and the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology of the University of Cambridge (supervisor: Prof. A.A. Lapkin), respectively.
From 2018 to 2021 he was a Lecturer in Heterogeneous Reactors and a Research Associate in Sustainable Reaction Engineering at the University of Cambridge.
In 2020, he received the Italian Engineer Qualification and the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor.
His research interests range from industrial safety to kinetic modelling, microfluidics to machine learning applications to chemical processes, advanced oxidation processes and water treatment, photocatalysis and hydrogen production/storage.
