Biopolymers and Bioplastics

Bio-based polymers containing nanoparticles are designed to overcome the drawbacks of this class of materials. One of the goals is immobilizing/confining stabilizing molecules and/or nanoparticles onto either the filler or the biopolymer backbone, so as to minimizing the loss of the additives during processing, use and recycle of the material. The formulation of low-environmental impact plastics is also pursued through a clever use of nanoparticles and recycled polymers.
